We will be staying at the Orleans Riverside Aug 18-22. We are entertaining the idea to upgrade to the Boardwalk (is it worth the money?) for easy entering to DHS and Epcot. We are afraid of the bus service! How long are the bus times in Aug for Riverside?

    Hi Tiffany,

Port Orleans Riverside is a wonderful resort and probably my favorite among the moderate resorts. The landscaping is beautiful and you feel as if you have stepped right into the Antebellum era of the Deep South. It is a quiet and peaceful resort, in my opinion. But, you bring up a good point. Because the bus transportation at Port Orleans picks up and drops off at multiple "depots" around the resort, your wait or subsequently your ride on the bus could, at times, be a lengthy one.

Your next question was if the Boardwalk was worth the money. In my opinion, yes, absolutely. I recently stayed there and fell in love with the convenience of strolling to Epcot's International Gateway entrance and not having to time it with any type of transportation schedule. The walk to Hollywood Studios is a bit longer than to Epcot, but still doable. The rooms are elegantly appointed and the amenities are wonderful. If you plan on focusing most of your trip at Epcot or Disney's Hollywood Studios, then this could be the resort for you.

Again, you should choose what would work best for your needs and budget, but I hope my answer helped your decision making.

Feel free to come back by and ask me more questions. Happy planning.
