Craig from OH Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We are staying at the Orlando International Airport Hyatt Regency the night before our Disney cruise. We have purchased roundtrip Disney ground transportation, beginning with pickup from the Hyatt to Port Canaveral. How is luggage picked up at the Hyatt?

Ahoy there Craig! Welcome aboard planDisney!

Ah, the pre-cruise stay with Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation – that's a planDrew-approved approach for a Disney Cruise Line vacation if I’ve ever heard one! And when it comes to sailing out of Port Canaveral, there are few places as convenient as the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport. My family almost always stays there before our cruises when we aren’t planning to visit Walt Disney World Resort afterward.

When it comes to luggage pickup, you’ll receive a letter, email, and/or text message from the Hyatt that will outline the steps, but having just experienced this in September when my family sailed on the Disney Wish, I can walk through the steps right now!

First thing, I’d be sure to reach out to a crew member through chat, email, or by phone to be sure Disney Cruise Line knows your party will be staying at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport prior to your sailing. This will ensure your party will be on the check-in manifest in the lobby! On Embarkation Day, you’ll wake up and leave your checked bags packed and ready to go just inside the doorway to your hotel room. This is when you’ll place the luggage tags you should have received from Disney Cruise Line on any luggage you would like to magically show up at your stateroom later that evening.

Once you head down to the lobby for check-in, the bell services staff at the Hyatt will collect your bags from your room and take care of transferring your luggage along with your fellow Guests’ bags to Port Canaveral.

And that’s really it! Just be sure you keep a carry-on bag with you with any essential medication, your Port Arrival Form, Travel Documentation, and perhaps a swimsuit and change of clothes if you’re likely to want to hit the pools right after you board!

It really is a seamless process in my experience, so I’m excited for you and your crew to feel the same! Thank you so much for your question, Craig, and if you have any others as you continue planning, please leave another message here for us at planDisney!

    Fair winds and following seas!
