Hiya Joseph - welcome to
planDisney!
I'm so glad you decided to stop by and ask your first question to our team of panelists - we're here to help you and your crew get the most out of your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation! You've picked a great time to visit - the
Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration is in full swing with a full array of exciting new attractions, entertainment offerings, food, and so much more!
In most cases, Guests are
not permitted to make and hold overlapping dining reservations within a two-hour window. So, if you already booked a reservation at
Chef Mickey's, you will be listed as a Guest on that reservation and would not personally be able to make a second reservation for another table within two hours of that first reservation. It's important to note that when making reservations, you don't actually have to assign specific Guests from your Family & Friends list! You can just leave them as Guest 2, Guest 3, and so on. The one downside is that the reservation will only show up in your plans, but it also won't prevent those Guests from being the person to make another dining reservation at the same time for the rest of your crew.
So, the workaround for your situation is quite simple as long as you have another person in your party who already has a My Disney Experience account and is not currently listed on the other reservation. If they are, simply modify the Guests in the first reservation to remove them by tapping
Update Party in your reservation. Now they will be a generic Guest 2 (or 3, or 4) freeing them up to make the second reservation for your crew! Be sure to check back closer to your trip if you're not able to find the exact reservations you're looking for. Other Guests' plans change constantly, and when they cancel a reservation, it is instantly available in the system for others like you!
I hope this information helps you continue planning -
please let me know if I can help answer any other questions for you!
