We are staying in one of the Royal Rooms at Port Orleans Riverside Nov 10-17 2018..my father in law is disabled and will have an electronic scooter...do we have to be on the 1st floor? I have heard they don't have elevators but then I heard they do..

    Hi, there!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Amber. We're always glad to see you!

I love Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, and I think your family will too. The laid-back atmosphere and beautiful Sassagoula River makes this Resort hotel super peaceful. You'll be pleased to know that Oak Manor and Parterre Place, the buildings in Magnolia Bend that feature Royal Guest Rooms, do house elevators (the buildings in the Alligator Bayou section of the resort do not). There are over 30 Royal Guests Rooms that have been specially adapted to accommodate Guests with wheelchairs or electric scooters. If you feel your father-in-law would be more comfortable in one of those adapted rooms, I encourage you to call the reservation line at (407) 939-1936 to add that request to your existing reservation.

Did you know that the Walt Disney World Resort provides a host of services for Guests with disabilities? For more information, you can contact Disability Services at (407) 560-2547 or email disability.services@disneyparks.com.

Be sure to plan a visit to Disney Springs during your stay at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. It's just a convenient ferryboat ride away!

Thanks for stopping by, Amber. Please visit us again soon with any new questions you may have!
