Hi Bob,
Thanks for rolling by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It sounds like you've picked a fantastic way to celebrate the New Year, and I am more than happy to help with your scooter question.
Walt Disney World is committed to providing a fantastic experience for all of its Guests, including those with
mobility needs. You can
rent ECVs daily at each of
the Parks,
they are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and must stay in the Park in which they were borrowed.
Since you'll need
a scooter throughout your trip, I would consider renting one through one of Disney's Featured Providers. Most offer drop-off and pick-up at your hotel, and they all provide length-of-stay rentals. One of my best friend's husband recently had back surgery. When they visited Walt Disney World with us, they rented from Buena Vista Scooters. They had a fantastic experience, and I've heard only good reviews about them.
Most of the
Good Neighbor Hotels have shuttle services to and from Walt Disney World.
Double-check on arrival, but the transportation options should include the ability to accommodate an ECV. Also, consider ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft. They often have the option of larger vehicles to accommodate your entire party, and you can rent a scooter that breaks down for easy transportation.
Once you are on Disney property, you have many options.
Resort transportation is complimentary and includes buses, water taxi, the monorail, and
the brand new Disney Skyliner. All of these can accommodate your scooter. You can even hail a
Minnie Van through the Lyft app that can fit your party and your ECV!
Bob, if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to come back. chEARs to 2020!
