we are staying at one of the Disney resorts. we want to drive our motorhome down with the whole family and make stops before getting to WDW. Can we park the motorhome in resort parking lot. We will not be staying in the MH during our stay at WDW.

Hi Marge! I love that you will be enjoying the country as you drive down to Florida in your motor coach. We also have one and being able to sleep in our coach and cook our meals while on the road is so much better then stopping at every fast food spot along the way.

Most of the Disney Resorts will be able to handle a large motor home parked in their lots. However, a few are very tight such as Old Key West. This resort has very small lots attached to their separate buildings and finding a car parking spot can sometimes be tough much less an RV. We were placed there during this past fall's hurricane when they evacuated Fort Wilderness. We were able to park the coach at the Port Orleans resort. Most of the others will have larger parking areas and they will direct you to the best place to park during your stay. They might even arrange for you to park in the large lot at Fort Wilderness. When you check in they will explain what to do with the coach.

Also,, please know that Disney will not allow generators to run while a motor coach is parked in a lot. So make sure you remove your perishables from the refrigerator. That was probably the worst thing we had to do during our evacuation because of course we had a full freezer and frig. Luckily we were put up at Old Key West and had a full size frig and freezer there.

Enjoy your adventure and safe travels!
