We will be staying at Old Key West and have reservations for dinner at Port Orleans. Can we take the boat there?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Kristy! Thanks for bringing us your question.

When my family and I stayed at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort, one of our favorite amenities was the Sassagoula River Ferryboat ride to Disney Springs. What a fun and convenient way to get there from our resort hotel. And the kids loved it!

Kristy, there isn’t a direct Ferryboat route from Disney’s Old Key West Resort to Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts, but if you have time for a leisurely cruise, you can definitely use this mode of transportation which will make a quick stop at Disney Springs. If you find yourself in a pinch to get to your reservation quickly, a cab ride might be a quicker option. The resorts are fairly close to each other, so I don’t believe it would be an expensive fare. But if you can plan to take the ferryboat, it really is a lovely ride there and back.

After your meal, if you have room for dessert, the beignets at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, the Counter Service restaurant in Port Orleans Resort, are so yummy! And the atmosphere at this resort is lovely. You could even enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride and make a night of it!

I hope you have a wonderful dinner at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort. Do come back and see us again real soon!
