We are staying at old key west 10/8 to 10/12. We would like to do a fireworks cruises during that time. We are a party of 13. Do they have boat’s available for a party of that size? How much would it cost. We are vacation club members.

    Welcome Home, Christine!

I am one of those Disney fans that tears up watching Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom. I just love the combination of music, projections, and fireworks that stir so many emotions in my Disney-loving heart! And booking a specialty fireworks cruise is the perfect way to enjoy the show with family and friends.

At this time, only the Specialty Cruises have resumed operation, and unfortunately, these cruises are only available for up to 10 Guests. This means your party of 13 would not be able to be accommodated. While it wouldn’t be ideal, you could consider booking two boats and splitting your party into two groups. Benefits and perks for Disney Vacation Club Members can and do change, and while a discount has been available for these cruises from time to time in the past, it is not currently being offered.

October is still quite a bit in the future, and additional options may return by then, especially with the Golden Anniversary Celebration! The Ferrytale Fireworks: A Sparkling Dessert Cruise that was available before the pandemic would be able to accommodate a larger group. This cruise is not private, but it would fit your entire party. However, there is no word if or when this option will return, but I would continue to check back in case it, or something similar makes a comeback before your trip.

I have a few other ideas for you, Christine! What about booking dinner at one of the resorts near Magic Kingdom, and then enjoying the fireworks from that resort? I would recommend dinner at ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Then you could walk down to the beach area to view the fireworks together. The view from California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort is amazing, and even if you dine before the fireworks, Guests who dined earlier that evening may return to the restaurant to view the fireworks from the balcony. They even dim the lights in the restaurant and pipe in the music so you get the full experience! We enjoyed the fireworks from California Grill last week and it was absolutely lovely. As a bonus, Disney Vacation Club Members currently receive a 10% discount on food at both of these dining locations!

I hope one of these ideas might work for your group, Christine. Please let me know if you have any additional questions I can help you with. I love chatting with my fellow Disney Vacation Club Members!

    Wishing you Membership Magic!
