Hey there, Hasida! Welcome to planDisney!
I’m happy to help with your question. With plans for
character dining and a day at the Magic Kingdom, I’d say you already have a top-notch vacation itinerary in the works!
I’m happy to report that all guests visiting the
Contemporary Resort and
Bay Lake Tower can access a walking path that leads across World Drive and directly to the Magic Kingdom. There is a security checkpoint along the path, but again, it is open to all guests and not just those staying at the Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower. It’s important to remember that if you have a personal vehicle, you can park it at the resort while you enjoy breakfast, but you cannot leave it there while visiting the Magic Kingdom. You’ll need to park your vehicle at the nearby Ticket and Transportation Center.
As you prepare for your Walt Disney World adventure, be sure to download the
My Disney Experience app to your mobile device if you haven’t already. Not only does the app help you manage your tickets and reservations, but it can also provide step-by-step instructions to most locations around Walt Disney World. For example, at the time I’m writing this, the app tells me it is a 13-minute walk from Chef Mickey’s to the Magic Kingdom, or a 28-minute monorail ride. So your plan to walk sounds like the right decision!
I hope this information helps with your planning, Hasida. Come right back if you have any other questions or need recommendations of any kind. You’re as welcome as can be at planDisney!
Magical travels!
Matt
