I am staying offsite & have my own car. Where can I park to go to Disney Boardwalk? I hear parking can be limited there. Is there a better area to park where I can take a boat, bus, skyliner to get there? I do have handicap plates.

Hi Natalie! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question!

I hope you are getting excited about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort stay! On almost every trip my family takes, we make it a priority to visit Disney's Boardwalk! It brings a bit of nostalgia to us because it is modeled after the turn of the century coastal cities that I grew up around in the Northeast. There is a ton to see and do there, including dining at top-rated restaurants and playing some classic boardwalk-style games. The best part for me is the views over Crescent Lake. It's stunning when you are standing there in the middle of the day with the sun shining down. You have a beautiful view of Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts as well as the Friendship boats cruising on by. It truly is a serene setting!

If you plan to make an Advanced Dining Reservation for one of the restaurants located on Disney's Boardwalk, you can park right at Disney's Boardwalk Inn. Simply drive to the security gate at the Resort and the guard will ask to scan your MagicBand or verify your reservation with your driver's license. Since you have handicap plates, you can find the closest handicap parking space or you will have the option to Valet your vehicle as well.

If you just wanted to explore the Boardwalk and hang out in that area, your best option is to park at Disney Springs and take a bus to Disney's Boardwalk Inn. Parking is complimentary at Disney Springs, so this option is the most cost-effective way. I suggest parking in the Orange Parking Garage since this will be your shortest walk to the Disney Springs bus station. When you are ready to head back, just hop on a bus from any of the three Disney Resorts in the area back to Disney Springs.

If you wanted a different option for transportation, you can always park at Disney's Hollywood Studios and take the boat or the Disney Skyliner to the Boardwalk area. The boat will take you directly to the center of the action while the Skyliner will take you to the International Gateway entrance of EPCOT. Once you get off the Skyliner, head to the right toward the Boardwalk area. My girls love it anytime we can change up the transportation for the day and they look at the Disney Skyliner as an attraction all by itself. Keep in mind, you will need to pay for parking at Disney's Hollywood Studios if you decide on this option.

Natalie, I hope one of these options works out for you on your upcoming vacation! I hope you have a magical time!

    See ya real soon!
    Greg
