We are staying off-site during our trip this May and during one of our non park days we wanted to explore the different hotels via monorail, boats etc. Can we park at the Contem. Resort and use Disney trans. to get around? Is there a cost to park at CR?

Hi Anne! The Contemporary Resort is one of the most "guarded" resorts for parking. You will only make it past the guard gate if you have a dining reservation or are staying at either the Contemporary or Bay Lake Tower. The guards will have lists of reservations to confirm this so you can't try to sneak your way in. Obviously too many people in the past were trying to park there and it left their own guests with parking issues. What you can do is park at Downtown Disney and catch a resort bus from there and then hop on the resort monorail once you reach the Magic Kingdom. You can visit the Contemporary, Polynesian, and the Grand Floridian resorts. Then stop back at the Contemporary and catch a boat and visit Wilderness Lodge and even perhaps Fort Wilderness. Parking at Downtown Disney is free and it would be a wonderful day of resort visiting and relaxing.
