We are staying off-property our first night and would like to visit Ft. Wilderness for the campfire and wagon rides the night that we arrive. Will we be allowed to park at Ft. Wilderness Lodge even though we do not have a dining reservation?

    Hi Courtney!

It sounds like you have a perfect plan for your first night on your Walt Disney World vacation. Traveling to Fort Wilderness will be relaxing and calm versus trying to hit a park and getting into the rush of the crowds.

Right now the Chip and Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long begins at 7pm but arrive earlier so you have time to roast marshmallows and make your s’mores. If you are interested in a carriage or wagon ride arrive earlier or book one for after the campfire around 8pm. If you are visiting during the holidays enjoy the sites as they will be decked out with beautiful decorations.

When you arrive the guard will direct you to guest parking. From there you will need to walk to the main bus depot area and hop on the internal bus. I recommend the orange route but if in doubt simply ask any of the internal bus drivers and they will let you know if they will be stopping for the campfire stop. It is just a short ride. You can easily walk between the campfire location and the wagon rides near Pioneer Hall as there are sidewalks the entire way.

Enjoy your first day of magic at the Fort Wilderness Resort!
