Hi - I am staying off-property and have a character Breakfast reservation before park hours. How much time should I allow myself to get to the breakfast from parking lot? And is it difficult to get into park before hours when you have a reservations?

Hi Amy! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

In just three days you will be exploring the Walt Disney World Resort. How fun! I bet you are busy planning all those last-minute details.

Thinking about all the yummy breakfast dining options at the Walt Disney World Resort is making me hungry. What a magical way to begin your day! I often plan our breakfast reservations before normal operating hours so our meal time doesn't take up much of our play time in the theme parks. It's also a great way to stop for a few quick pictures with much lower crowd volume.

I suggest that you plan to enter the parking lot at least 45 minutes prior to a breakfast reservation at Epcot, Disney's Animal Kingdom or Disney's Hollywood Studios and at least 1 hour prior to a breakfast reservation at Magic Kingdom Park. Although you won't be dealing with as much of a crowd, you still want to allow plenty of time for parking, walking to the entrance, going through security, getting through the breakfast reservation line and checking into your reservation around 15 minutes early. Keep in mind that at Magic Kingdom Park, you will be parking at the Transportation and Ticket Center, then taking either the Express Monorail or ferryboat over to the entrance. When in doubt, always show up extra early! If you have to wait a little bit, that's a great time to take those low crowd pictures that I mentioned!

You will probably notice a designated entrance for breakfast reservations. You will give the name on the reservation to the Cast Member and they will check to make sure you have a reservation. Then you can enter with valid theme park admission. I always take along my dining confirmation number just in case, but I've never had to use it ... they always find it by name.

I hope this helps plan your day, Amy! Let us know if you have any other questions!
