Hey there, Julie! Welcome to planDisney! We’re thrilled to help you get ready for your magical morning at Magic Kingdom. Rope drop is such an exciting way to start your Disney day!
Parking for Walt Disney World theme parks typically opens 60 to 90 minutes before park opening.
For your visit,
Early Theme Park Entry begins at 8:30 a.m. for Disney Resort hotel guests and Good Neighbor resort guests, like you! I recommend arriving at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) by 7:00 a.m. This will give you plenty of time to park, prepare, and be among the first in line. If Cast Members haven’t started admitting guests into the parking area when you arrive, don’t worry, you’ll be at the front of the line, ready to go!
Once parked at the TTC, you’ll have two transportation options to reach Magic Kingdom. The
Monorail, which is a quick, iconic ride that takes you directly to the park gates or
The Ferryboat is a scenic and relaxing trip across the Seven Seas Lagoon.
Both options take approximately 20–30 minutes to get you to
Magic Kingdom, factoring in wait times and travel. You’ll still have plenty of time to soak in the magic and be ready for rope drop when the park officially opens!
planDisney Pro Tip: To maximize your rope-drop experience, be sure that your
My Disney Experience app is ready for you to display ride times so that you know which way you are heading to get to your must-do attractions first. Popular attractions like
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and
Peter Pan’s Flight tend to have shorter waits early in the morning. If you’re using
Lightning Lane, you can also strategize your selections to make the most of your day.
Enjoy every moment of your Disney adventure, and may your rope-drop morning be as magical as can be!
Toodles,
Korliss
