Welcome back to planDisney, Melanie!
I know that you’re counting down the days until your next Most Magical visit to Walt Disney World. Mickey Mouse hugs, DOLE Whips, and walks down Main Street, U.S.A. are just around the river bend. And nowadays, there are some attractions that allow you to wait virtually versus standing in a line for a longer amount of time. These are rides that use a
Virtual Queue—let’s hop to it!
Virtual Queues allow you to join a popular attraction’s queue without physically waiting in a queue. In order to get in on the fun, make sure that your theme park tickets are linked to your MyDisney Account and that you have a theme park reservation for the park that you’ll be visiting on the date that you need a Virtual Queue spot. The first opportunity to join a Virtual Queue in the
My Disney Experience App is at 7 a.m. EST (be ready a few minutes before and refresh), and the cool part is that you can do this from anywhere. I’m a local, so I often join the queue from the comfort of my own bed. If you miss out on the early morning drop, you’ll have another chance at 1 p.m. EST. For that opportunity, you need to already tap into the theme park’s entry point.
At the time of this writing,
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT and
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom Park are the only two attractions that utilize the Virtual Queue system. Another way to ride these attractions, but for a fee, is to purchase a Lightning Lane Multi and/or Single Pass. You can get these within the My Disney Experience App up to 3 days before your visit (when staying off-site). You can find
more information about the Lightning Lane here.
Melanie, I hope that this helps. Feel free to reach out to us here at planDisney if you have additional questions about your upcoming visit.
I’m all ears!Magic always,
LeAndra
