Staying off site for the first time. Looking for pointers on how to use a car at wdw. Where do you park at the parks? Whole new world to us. We are use to the disney resort buses. Also can you make ADRs when off site?

    Hi Amy,

Thank you for writing me with your question! What I find most convenient about driving a car around Walt Disney World property is the time saved. A car ride from All-Star Movies to Epcot, for example, would only take guests about 8 minutes. On a bus, you can expect a 20 minute ride plus the time waiting for the bus to arrive.

Although you may be parking far from the actual main entrance, parking lot trams will come by frequently to whisk you up to the front. Magic Kingdom is the only theme park where you'll park your car at the Ticket and Transportation Center. You'll then take either a monorail or the ferry boat to get to the front gates of Magic Kingdom. Be aware parking will cost you about $17.00 per day for a car (fees are always subject to change) however saving your receipt will allow you re-entry on the same day or parking at any other Disney theme park that day.

Having a car will also provide you many more food options, often much less expensive than inside the parks. You'll find the directional signage all throughout the area is very easy to follow. Signs are virtually everywhere directing travelers to their destination.

Anyone visiting Walt Disney World, either as a Disney Resort hotel guest or off-site, can book an Advance Dining Reservation 180-days prior. You can do so online or by calling 407-WDW-DINE, 407-939-3463.

I'm limited in space, Amy, but can certainly answer any other questions you might have. I wish you a magical visit!
