We are staying off site, and we will be driving to the parks. I know that we have to pay for parking, however how far is the walk or do they have trams to get to the gate. Trying to plan with 3 kids under 8

Hello Jennifer and welcome to planDisney, we're all so happy you stopped by with your question.

It's so fun to hEar you and your 3 little Mouseketeers have upcoming plans to visit Walt Disney World Resort this April!  Now your trip is almost right around the river bend in the next few days, I can just imagine how excited you're beginning to feel about arriving in Orlando where you're sure to find so many magical things to do at Walt Disney World Resort

I have some great news to share that although the parking lots at Walt Disney World Resort are huge spaces, you won't need to worry about walking many additional steps to traverse these parking lots as Disney provides complimentary trams to transport Guests to close-by to the Theme Park entrances.  This is something my family has always been thankful for, especially at the end of a busy Disney day!

Here just for you are a couple of my top tips for getting the most out of Parking at Walt Disney World Resort -

    - Firstly, did you realise that day Guests need only pay for 1 self-parking pass per-day when visiting Disney Theme Parks.  Simply pay once-per-day and use your receipt to gain parking at Magic Kingdom ParkDisney's Animal Kingdom Theme ParkEpcot, or Disney's Hollywood Studios.

    - Want to park a little closer to the main entrance?  No problem, just select Preferred Parking!

    - When parking, remember to snap a quick picture of your parking lane number and area; incidentally these areas are usually named after Disney characters!  After a long Disney day, it can be oh-so-easy to forget quite where you parked your vehicle!

    - Self-Parking is complimentary at Disney Springs and at both Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park & Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

    - Guests with Advanced Dining Reservations at select dining locations at hotels in the Disney Resort Collection may have up to 3 approximately hours of complimentary self-parking to enjoy their dining experience.

Jennifer, all that now remains is for me to wish you and your dear family an extra magical upcoming vacation to the most magical place on earth!

Have a great Disney day ~ Jane
