Hi, Emily! While having a MagicBand is not necessary for Guests staying off-property, I have found them very useful in helping me keep track of everything I need. Theme park tickets, FastPass+ selections and more are all stored right in My Disney Experience, which is linked to that lovely little MagicBand. Linking it and your tickets can be done faster than you can spell "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!"
If you were logged in to your My Disney Experience account when you purchased your theme park tickets, they should automagically be linked. If you do not
see them in your account, just click the
Link Tickets button and enter your Ticket Order Number from your confirmation email. If you did receive actual tickets in the mail from your purchase, you will find its ID number on the back of the ticket. Just enter those and you will be set!
Now look at the back of your MagicBand for a series of alphanumerics. Head to the
Reservation and Purchase Link page and select
MagicBand. You will need to enter the alphanumerics in the appropriate spot. If you do link several at once, you will assign
each person in your party a band. Since these bands will not be customized with each person's name, you may want to put initials on them so it will not be forgotten to whom each band was assigned. If you do have an issue linking a MagicBand, then any Guest Services or merchandise location Cast Member will be happy to assist you. I bought one of my daughters a Stitch MagicBand last year and was unable to link it on the website. The next time we were in the parks, one of the wonderful Cast Members linked it for us.
I hope this information helps you, Emily. Please let me know if you have any further questions!
