We’re staying off property. My toddler turns 3 in the middle of our trip. Will I need to buy him tickets to the park for the day he turns 3 or will he be considered 2 still since we’re starting before his birthday!

    Hi Jaci!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Walt Disney World Resort is the perfect place to celebrate your son's birthday! Be sure to pick up a complimentary birthday celebration button from any Guest Relations location or Disney Resort hotel front desk so Cast Members and other Guests can join in the celebration.

Guests don't age during a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, which is great because Walt Disney World Resort vacations really do keep us all young! Your son's age at the start of your trip will be the age used for your entire trip for ticketing and reservation purposes. Since Guests who are under 3 years old receive complimentary admission to Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, you will not need to purchase theme park tickets for your son for your trip since he will be considered 2 years old for your entire trip!

But this won't stop you from enjoying celebrating his birthday during your vacation. Be sure to add his birthday to your dining reservations by calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463. And since no birthday is complete without cake, you can order him a birthday cake to be delivered to one of the restaurants throughout Walt Disney World Resort or one of the Disney Resort hotels!

Please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue planning your magical trip. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
