Hi Suzanne; welcome to planDisney! You've made a great dinner selection with
Steakhouse 71, and pairing it with an
After Hours event will give you a delicious meal (don't skip the Steakhouse 71 Chopped Salad!) followed by quick and easy access to Magic Kingdom Park after dinner! My friends and I used this same strategy in October when we attended Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party; after a late lunch, we took the walkway over to enter the park!
Suzanne, while you are welcome to park your car at
Disney's Contemporary Resort for your dining reservation, you will not be allowed to leave it for the duration of the After Hours party since long-term resort parking is reserved for guests staying at the resort. What I would suggest instead is to park your car at the Ticket and Transportation Center for Magic Kingdom Park and then take the
Disney Monorail Transportation resort loop to the Contemporary Resort to enjoy your dinner. Following your dinner, you can then opt to take the monorail or walking path to Magic Kingdom for the After Hours party and your car will be securely parked and waiting for you after the event!
While you're at the Contemporary, be sure to visit with the Mickey Mouse sculpture just outside the back entrance - this is one of my favorite photo spots on property!
And one more bonus tip about After Hours - this will be the first time a standby line will be offered for
TRON Lightcyle/Run! I definitely recommend taking advantage of this unique opportunity to enter the grid for a fast-paced, thrilling adventure!
Enjoy the magic,
Alison
