Hello there, Susan. Welcome to
planDisney. I'm so glad you've stopped to chat about your upcoming
Walt Disney World vacation. I also vacation there around this time of year and absolutely love it. All of the parks are dressed up in their holiday best and it's just so festive and fun! I'm certain you are going to have a great time.
I actually stay off property quite a bit and am very familiar with driving myself to the
Walt Disney World Theme Parks. In fact, I enjoy having my own transportation there so much that even when I am staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, I will typically now just drive myself around. I think you will find that the roads are so easily navigated, it really is great. Susan, when you pay for the first park per day be sure to ask for a receipt. As long as you have this, you'll only need to pay one time per day. When you arrive at the second park that you are park hopping to, you can just show the parking attendant this receipt and off you'll be to park.
When it comes to parking at a
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, as long as you have a dining reservation you will be permitted to park complimentary at the hotel for a few hours. When you arrive at the guard shack, they'll ask you for your reservation, they'll verify and then they will direct you where is the best location for you to park your personal vehicle.
When you are parking at a Walt Disney World Theme Park be sure to look at what parking lot section you are in and your row number. I like to take a picture of my row number or text the information to someone else in my group just so I have a record of it somewhere. It's easy to be so excited when you first arrive and forget to look. I also like to pack a small cooler of water to keep in my car. I know you are vacationing in December so it won't be as hot, but it can still be kind of a long walk back to your car. It's nice to have cold refreshing water waiting for you once you are back in your car.
I hope this helps, Susan. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm here to help. Have fun and enjoy!
