We are staying in October at POFQ and have early morning dining reservations and we are unsure the best way to get there. We are dining at 7:00 at Chef Mickey's and 7:35 at Ohana/Polynesian. Will the buses be available? Would a cab be a better choice?

    Hi there Bill,

I just stayed at Disney's Port Orleans Resort French Quarter two months ago.  You're in for a real treat.  This is an adorable Disney resort.

Regarding your early morning transportation options, I suggest you check with the Guest Services desk at your home resort the night before your breakfast reservation.  While early morning buses are often available to take guests to breakfast reservations, it is best to confirm this the night before your reservation.  Personally, I think it is well worth it to grab a taxi to Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Polynesian Resort for those early morning reservations.  The cab will take a more direct route than complimentary Disney transportation and the distance from Disney's Port Orleans Resort is not far at all.  It will save you valuable time at the beginning of your day.  You may also want to consider reserving a private car service (www.mearstransportation.com) to pick you up for breakfast.  When I compared car service rates to taxi fares, I was surprised to find that the private cars often were less expensive than a cab.  You can call Mears in advance to get a quote and set up a pick-up time.

Wishing you a magical vacation this October!
