Hiya Kaleigh,
Welcome to planDisney, mama! I am super excited to help answer your question today, and I hope we can get you ready for your vacation! I’m a new mom and am also researching how to have the most magical vacation with the littlest Mouseketeer, including breastfeeding.
Except for
Deluxe Villa Resorts (which include freezers), depending on which Walt Disney World Resort Collection you are staying at, you can expect either an
in-room refrigerator or a small beverage cooler. The fridges are excellent for keeping things cool, but you are right; they are not equipped to freeze ice packs. Most of the fridges come with a small freezer compartment but in my experience it doe not maintain the temperature enough for your needs.
But don’t worry yet, there may be a solution for you! Though not guaranteed, some of my fellow panelists have told me that Bell Services may be able to store your labeled ice packs overnight in their freezer so you can have them for your park days. However, as I mentioned, this is not guaranteed, so I highly recommend reaching out to a
Cast Member about your specific resort hotel before you depart so you can work on preparing an alternative plan should you need one.
In case you were curious, my current plan B for my trip is to bring a soft-sided cooler with me and then pack my ice packs in resealable bags. Then I will keep the ice packs frozen by refilling the resealable bags with ice from quick service locations (you can always ask for cups of ice at any counter service location for free). It is not perfect, but it should do the trick for a limited time.
I hope this was helpful, Kaleigh! Please come back and see us if there is anything else I can do!
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
