    Staying 4 nights for our first trip to WDW and really want to stay at AKL, but concerned about the distance with kids 2 and 4 yrs old. Considering staying 2 nights at one of the monorail hotels and then 2 nights at AKL. Is this nuts??

    Hi Shannon!

    No...I don't think it's crazy!  We ADORE Animal Kingdom Lodge, and think it is an extremely unique resort experience well worth the time.  I think 2 nights there, and 2 nights at a monorail resort is a great compromise for you as far as proximity to the parks is concerned.  I think you'll LOVE Animal Kingdom Lodge and will also LOVE the closeness of a monorail resort!
