Hi, We will be staying 1 night in a 2bd villa at OKW then in a Treehouse villa for the additional 5 nights. Disney said they would help out with our luggage and food transferring to the Treehouse. I was wondering if anyone had ideas on how this works?

Howdy Shea!! Disney makes resort transfers a simple and seamless process.

Moving from one resort to the next is very easy. When you are ready to check-out of Disney's Old Key West Resort, contact the Bell Stand and let them know you need your luggage transferred to Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa. They will collect your items and give you a receipt. Your items will be transferred to your new resort and delivered that afternoon. Be sure you keep items you will need that day with you. Once you give your items to the Cast Member to be transferred, you will not have access to your luggage again until it is delivered to your villa. We typically pack a collapsible cooler bag and freezer packs if we know we will need to move cold items. While Disney does offer cold storage at the resorts, you will need a way to keep cold items cold during the transfer.

One very important note: do not close your account when you change resorts. Simply depart and go enjoy your day! If you close your account, you will not be able to do a room charge or finish using your Disney Dining Plan entitlements from your initial Dining Plan (if applicable). Assuming Magic Bands are being tested at both of your resorts during your stay, you may need to check in at Saratoga Springs the morning that you check-out of Old Key West and check-in at Saratoga Springs.  As MyMagic+ is still in a testing phase, be sure to check with a Cast Member prior to your arrival to confirm if you need to check-in at Saratoga Springs before enjoying your time in a theme park.

We love doing split stays. It gives us the ability to enjoy the amenities and locations of multiple resorts and enhances our vacation.

Thanks so much for your question and please let me know if you need any further information as you plan your vacation. Have a magical day!
