Staying next month at POFQ. Since there are no quiet pools, are we allowed to use the main pool after the lifeguards have left? There are no children in my party.

    Hi Jaynee,

How exciting that your vacation is just a month away!  Port Orleans - French Quarter is one of my favorite Disney Resort hotels.  My children love the Mardi Gras party theme, I love the lush landscape, and we all adore the beignets.

Since Port Orleans - French Quarter is a smaller, more intimate Resort hotel it only features one main pool.  This pool, Doubloon Lagoon, has a life guard on duty during posted hours and is closed when a life guard is not on duty.  You may not swim in Doubloon Lagoon when the lifeguard is not on duty.  However there are 5 quiet pools located very close to you at the Port Orleans - Riverside sister property which are all open 24 hours and do not have life guards.  There are 3 quiet pools in the Alligator Bayou section and 2 in the Magnolia Bend section.

The walk is very short from Port Orleans - French Quarter to a quiet pool at Port Orleans - Riverside and as an added bonus there are laundry facilities located at each quiet pool.  During my last stay at Port Orleans - French Quarter I took advantage of this by taking a dip in one of the quiet pools while I did a load of laundry at the same time.  The only difficult part was making myself get out to fold the laundry!
