We are staying at the new Art of Animation resort in late Sept with our 1 and 2 year olds. We have purchased the dining plan but would love some recommendations of the best places to eat with our not-so-patient toddlers. Thanks!

    Hi Carissa!

The good thing about vacationing at Walt Disney World is that almost everything you do there is stimulating to young kids!  I highly recommend character dining like Chef Mickey's.  My son, who I would call challenging at meal times, loves this restaurant.  We tell him when we sit down that Mickey and his friends won't visit us if we aren't sitting down at the table.

Restaurants like 'Ohana and Whispering Canyon Cafe are great for kids because there is a lot of guest interaction.  At 'Ohana, there is a coconut race and hula lessons during dinner.  This is great for the youngest ones who are restless because it gives them the chance to get up, walk around, and stretch for a bit.  At Whispering Canyon Cafe, there's lots of yelling and also a horsey race for the kids.  Again, great opportunity to get the kids up and moving around.  Whispering Canyon Cafe also has Lincoln Logs in the lobby for the kids to play with, so if all else fails, one of the adults can take a kiddo out to play for a little bit.

We also pack a little bag that has things for the kids to play with, like action figures, books, race cars...things like that.

    It's just a phase!  :D

    Have a magical day!
