We will be staying near Epcot & want to use the monorail to get to Magic Kingdom, but want to get to MK way before opening to help with crowds. Is it possible to get into Epcot that early to access the monorail? Or do we need other transportation?

Hi, Megan!  Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

In my opinion, a Walt Disney World Resort vacation simply isn't complete without a ride on the monorail.  The monorail is not only a convenient form of transportation, but it almost feels like an attraction itself!  While I do recommend taking advantage of this "highway in the sky" whenever possible, I don't think using the monorail will be possible in the scenario you described.

If you are staying at one of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels located near the International Gateway entrance of Epcot, you would need to enter Epcot at the International Gateway and walk through the park to arrive at the monorail station near Epcot's main entrance.  If you are hoping to travel to Magic Kingdom Park early in the morning before the theme parks are open, you will not be able to travel through Epcot to reach the monorail.

I would recommend checking with your resort hotel concierge to see what time bus service to Magic Kingdom Park will begin on the morning that you wish to visit the park.  Busses typically begin taking guests to the theme parks 45 minutes before park opening.  If you are hoping to get an even earlier start to your day, you may want to consider using the Disney Minnie Van Service.

The Disney Minnie Van Service is available daily beginning at 6:30 a.m., so it's a great option for your early morning transportation needs.  Minnie Vans can accommodate up to six guests and come equipped with two child seats if needed.  You can request and pay for your Minnie Van using the Lyft app on your phone, and a Cast Member will arrive to whisk you away to any location on Walt Disney World Resort property.

The Disney Minnie Van Service is especially convenient when you are traveling to Magic Kingdom Park.  Unlike other ride-sharing services which must drop guests off at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), your Minnie Van driver will be permitted to drop you off at the bus stop right outside the Magic Kingdom Park gates.  Plus, who wouldn't love a ride in one of those adorable red and white polka dot vehicles?

I hope that you find this information helpful as you plan for your vacation.  If you have any additional questions, please visit us again.  Have a magical day!
