we are staying in movie resort for 7 days but with the military special we have 5 days in the parks,my ? is what can we do the other two days and can .go in the parks in eat dinner

    Cindy:

Thank you for the service of your family!  My brother-in-law comes home from Iraq in December, and I'm crossing my fingers he'll be able to take advantage of this wonderful offer, too—and share it with his wonderful sister-in-law!

With the military special, an active or retired military member receives a complimentary 5-day Armed Forces Salute ticket with both ParkHopper and Water Park options, which allows five visits to Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, or DisneyQuest in addition to the theme parks.  The family may purchase up to five 5-Day companion tickets for $99 each, plus tax. Although the family ticket doesn't include the ParkHopper or Water Park options, you can upgrade each ticket for $25 plus tax, per option.

I'm not a fan of the ParkHopper option if you have children or seniors in your party, but I do recommend the Water Park option since you'll be there for two more days.  Visit a water park each of those additional days and then head over to DisneyQuest afterward.  If the water park has Extra Magic Hours in the evening, visit it the same day as you would Animal Kingdom because AK closes early!

Although you won't be able to eat in the theme parks without a park ticket, I recommend choosing a Deluxe resort for dinner on those two extra days—their restaurants offer tastier food, in my opinion, anyway!  My favorites: Ohana at the Polynesian, Artist's Point or Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge, or if you're on a budget, Pepper Market's food court at Coronado Springs.  (And if you're depending on Disney transportation to get you from your hotel to these resorts, use the "Transport Wizard" at www.ourlaughingplace.com to give you the quickest route there!)

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
