Hi there, Ashley!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is my favorite Disney Resort hotel. In fact, my husband and I celebrated our honeymoon at The Most Magical Place on Earth with a Savannah View room at Jambo House, and I will forever cherish the memory of drinking our morning coffee together as giraffes and zebras roamed by. With a stay at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village on the horizon, I'm sure you just can't wait to be...on vacation, so let's get right to your room request.
Of course, it is important to remember that a room request is just that - a request - so there is a chance your request might not be available. This is why I suggest keeping the request as simple as possible for ease of accommodation. Requesting a high floor or low floor is ultimately your preference. Would you like a more eye-level or birds-eye view of the savanna? Having stayed in both, I have found that I prefer a lower floor because it feels more personal as if the animals might walk right up and ask to share your breakfast. Of course, a higher floor allows you to take in more animals and their interactions at once. Because you will still have access to lower-level savanna views from the resort's public areas and
Sanaa, this is not a bad choice either.
Since you are hoping to have a view of giraffes from your deluxe studio, you will want to request a view of the Sunset Savanna. While most Savanna View villas at Kidani Village surround Sunset Savanna, some face
Pembe Savanna on the north side of the resort, and while those views are also incredible, you won't find giraffes on Pembe. For the best odds of securing a room facing Sunset, I suggest requesting a room either near the lobby or on the South Trail.
Rest assured, even if your request is unable to be accommodated, giraffes can be viewed from the resort's public areas, and you might even find yourself with a new favorite animal before you leave. My husband and I had a view of the Pembe Savanna during our last visit and were treated to the hilarious daily antics of Cassanova, an Abyssinian ground hornbill featured on
Magic of Disney's Animal Kingdom, that a Cast Member shared was simply too independently minded for his intended role at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park but quickly became a favorite at Animal Kingdom Lodge.
I hope this was helpful, Ashley. Because you'll inevitably begin planning your next magical vacation while in a Sanaa bread service-induced euphoric state, feel free to
stop back by with any future questions you may have.
Cheers to 2024,
Lizzie
