Hi! We're staying at Kidani in June and booked a 1 BR savanna view! Is there a room or a area I should request? Our priority is animals!

    Jambo Jennifer,

Thanks so much for visiting us again at planDisney. I love that you’re planning a stay at Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village this June. My family absolutely adores Animal Kingdom Lodge. There is nothing quite like starting the day with a cup of coffee on the balcony while watching giraffes, zebras, and other animals roaming the savanna. It truly feels like stepping right into your own real-life safari. My girls are also fascinated by okapis, and Kidani Village is one of the places where you can sometimes spot them near the pool area. At the same time, a knowledgeable Cast Member shares fun facts about these amazing animals.

So, Jennifer, let’s jump right into your question. The great news is that since you have a Savanna View room booked, you are guaranteed a view of the animals right from your balcony. When you complete your online check-in through the My Disney Experience app, you will see options to select room preferences such as near the lobby, near the elevator, or first available.

From my own experience, I like selecting “near the lobby.” Rooms closer to the lobby often sit more toward the center of the savanna, which can offer a broader view of the animals as they move around. Just remember that these are requests, not guarantees, but the Cast Members do a wonderful job of accommodating them whenever possible.

Also, while you’re there, I highly recommend checking out the Starlight Safari. This experience usually departs around 8:30 PM and 10:00 PM and allows you to explore the savanna after dark using night-vision devices.  You can book this experience directly in the My Disney Experience app.

Jennifer, I hope this helps answer your question. If any other planning questions pop up, please feel free to visit us again.

    See you real soon,

    Christina
