We're staying January 20-26th. We have 2 resorts reserved waiting for the Skyliner announcement. It completely depends if the Skyliner will have a refurbishment. Historically its announced by now. Does this mean it wont be in January this year?

    Hi there, Dustin!

Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for stopping by to talk about my favorite way to travel around Walt Disney World - the Disney Skyliner! Let's prepare for takeoff together.

At this time, no January closure has been announced for the Disney  Skyliner. In 2024, it was shut down for routine maintenance from January 16-26. Guests were notified in October 2023 of the scheduled downtime. While I don't have any insider information about 2025 closures, I recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog and your resort's web page for updates. Scheduled maintenance is usually noted in red font on the affected resort's main page, making it easy to spot.

I completely understand how essential transportation options are when deciding where to stay. My family loves the Disney Skyliner, too, and it's always a highlight of our trips. Based on previous years' notification timelines, I'd feel comfortable keeping your Skyliner-adjacent resort reservation for now. However, I encourage you to monitor updates as your travel dates approach, just in case. Large resorts like Disney's Coronado Springs Resort and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside typically have rooms available even at the last minute should you need to change.

I hope this is helpful, Dustin. Best wishes for an unforgettable January adventure. We look forward to welcoming you "home" for your winter escape!

    Happy holidays,
    Betsy
