We are staying in a hotel on Harbor Blvd & have 7:05am breakfast at Story Tellers Cafe. How do we get through park security lines when they don’t open until 7am?

Hey, howdy, hey, Linda! Welcome to planDisney. I'm glad you stopped by with your question as Storytellers Cafe is one of my very favorite restaurants at the Disneyland Resort!

It sounds like your hotel might be within walking distance to the Disneyland Resort but even if you are driving, my suggestion is the same: Head to Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa's main entrance and walk through the hotel to get to your dining reservation! There is not currently a security checkpoint to walk through the hotel's main lobby and this is the quickest way to your Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet reservation. The hotel's main entrance off Disneyland Drive is accessible by heading down Katella Avenue from Harbor Boulevard. Once at the hotel, you'll walk through the Main Lobby to Storytellers Cafe.

If you use the resort entrance on Harbor Boulevard, you would have to stop at two security screening areas (one on Harbor and another one when entering the hotel from the Downtown Disney District) on the way to your reservation and those lines can be very long in the morning before the parks open. The security lines, like the parking structures, open about an hour before the earliest park opening time, which would also be cutting it a little close. However, the Cast Members are used to early morning dining reservations, so you should have no problem making it to your reservation using whichever path you choose!

Linda, be sure to download the Disneyland Mobile App before your visit. The app has attraction wait times, directions to the nearest water bottle filling station, and mobile ordering for certain locations to help avoid those pesky food lines. It will make your day that much easier to familiarize yourself with the app before you arrive!

I hope this information helps get you to your reservation on time. If you need more planning help, please visit me again. I'd love to help!

Please say "hi" to Mickey for me!
