We are staying at a hotel on the Disney property. The concern I am having is the transportation from Airport to hotel. what are our options other than the Disney shuttle? We are looking for a quick yet not too expensive way to get to our hotel.

    Hi, Kay!

I’m glad to hear you’re planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation this fall. Your visit to “The Most Magical Place on Earth” will be here before you know it!

Aside from Disney’s Magical Express Transportation (which is complimentary), you can also travel from the airport to your resort hotel via taxi, rental car, shared shuttle, town car or limousine. Outside the baggage handling area at the airport you will find taxi cabs waiting to transport guests. The average cost is about $50 to $60 one-way (plus gratuity) to most of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, but a bit more for hotels in the Magic Kingdom area. If you choose to rent a car, several companies are located on-site at Orlando International Airport for your convenience.

For many guests, a shared shuttle van service is a convenient and cost-effective choice. Rates are typically about $18 per person one-way or $36 per person round-trip, with children under 3 years old riding for free. For larger parties, a town car or limousine transfer is a more upscale option that can be comparable to the total cost of shuttle fares.

I hope this helps, Kay, and that you have a wonderfully pixie-dusted vacation! Please feel free to ask me any other questions you may have as you continue to plan.

    Wishing you magic,
