Marisol from NJ Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I am staying at a Hilton resort outside the Disney parks, and I am not doing the fast pass, am I able to still use the wrist bands or is it only for fast pass and/ or when you have a dining package?

Hi Marisol and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so happy to see that you have a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort in your near future!

You are absolutely able to use your MagicBand during your visit this coming August. If you will be using an older band, just keep in mind that the battery will last about two years, after that there’s no real way to replace it so you will have to use a newer band.

Did you know that you can link your ticket information right to your MagicBand?

It makes it easy when you’re entering any of the theme parks, because all you will have to do is tap your band to the “Mickey” sensor and use one of your fingers to verify that it’s you who is using the ticket linked to your account. You won’t have to worry about losing your theme park ticket card during your adventures!

Marisol, FastPass+ is a service included with the price of your theme park ticket that allows you to reserve your place in line for attractions at all Walt Disney World Resort theme parks. You can start making selections 30 days before your planned visit via your My Disney Experience account, even if you’re not staying at a Disney Resort hotel.

If you have a must-do list, there’s a good chance that you will be able to use this service to cut-back on wait times for favorite attractions during your Incredible Summer visit.

I hope you have a magical trip. Please feel free to come back and see us soon if you have any more questions!
