Hello! I will be staying at a Hilton Resort near Disney Spring and I'm worried about transportation. Would it be better to take an Uber or is there any busses that would take me directly to the parks? I will also attend MNSSHP. Thank you!

Hi there, Nadia--welcome back to planDisney! I can tell you are counting down the days until your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World Resort and it's my pleasure to help with your question today.

There is nothing like a first-ever trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth, and I am sure you are going to have such an amazing time. Our family has stayed in some of the hotels near Disney Springs over the years and we've had good experiences with them. It's especially nice to be able to walk to Disney Springs via the convenient pedestrian bridge so you can check out all of the great shops and restaurants there!

Nadia, without knowing which hotel you are staying at I really can't speak to the transportation options. Many of the hotels in this area do offer shuttles to the theme parks, so I recommend calling the hotel directly to inquire about schedules. However, I can talk about rideshare options, which we use regularly when visiting Walt Disney World!

Using a rideshare service can be a very convenient option when traveling to the parks from off-property, or going between two destinations that don't have direct Walt Disney World transportation. Typically, there are many drivers available at any given time and it keeps the fares pretty low. On my most recent visit this summer, I was staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and some of my planDisney pals were already having fun at Magic Kingdom Park--I used rideshare and was there with them in no time!

Since it's your very first trip to Walt Disney World, here are a few of my favorite tips to make the most of your magical vacation:
    • Be sure to collect a "First Visit" button at Guest Relations in any of the theme parks or Disney Springs!
    • Purchase Memory Maker in advance and then be sure to get plenty of pictures to commemorate your trip. There are Disney PhotoPass photographers all around the parks and they take amazing pictures. I even created photo albums from the PhotoPass website for both of my girls' first trips "Home".
    • Comfortable footwear is a must! There is a lot of walking in any of the parks, and you don't want sore feet. I recommend bringing two pairs so you can switch in case one pair gets wet and packing some moleskin to prevent blisters.
I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes, Nadia! Your vacation will be here before you know it, and our planDisney squad is here for any other questions that come up before your arrival. Thanks so much for stopping by!
