Kiersten from MA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We will be staying at the Hilton Buena Vista place in July with a mix of ages (young kids, parents and grandparents who walking long distances is hard sometimes) what is the best way to get to and from the parks? Renting a car or taking the hotel shuttle?

Well, hello there, Kiersten, and welcome to planDisney!

You must be so excited for your upcoming trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth! I absolutely love that you're visiting with your whole royal entourage. Some of my favorite Disney World memories come from multigenerational trips with grandparents, extended family, and our tiniest Mousketeers! Transportation is pretty important at Disney World, so I'm so glad that you're thinking ahead. Let's hit the gas and check out your options!

Kiersten, I think you're going to love the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista. Not only is it walking distance from Disney Springs, but it also offers a free shuttle to Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. This is a really convenient option, but there are a few things you should know. First, you will need to make reservations in advance to ride the hotel shuttle. You can do this up to 72 hours in advance through the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista website. Departures begin 90 minutes before the parks open, run hourly throughout the day, and will stop running around 60 minutes after the parks close.

Now, if you prefer a little more flexibility, a car rental may be a better option for your family. This will give you the freedom to come and go from the parks as you please! However, it's important to note that theme park parking is not currently included at Good Neighbor® hotels, so be sure to budget for the extra cost. Of course, there are pros and cons to each option, but I hope this information helps you make the best decision for your family.

Kiersten, you mentioned that your older family members may have a harder time getting around in the parks. If mobility issues are a concern, you should know that daily ECV (electric conveyance vehicle) rentals are available at all four theme parks and at Disney Springs! And for the kiddos? Single and double strollers are also available at Stroller Rental locations throughout the resort.

I hope this information is helpful, Kiersten, and that you have a bibbidi bobbidi BEAUTIFUL time on your upcoming Disney vacation! If you have any other planning questions, you know where to find me right here at planDisney!

    Adventure is out there,
