Staying as guests with friends on DVC property for 1st half of trip and then have our own reservation for the remainder of the trip. Have the magic bands for second half - can we activate them before we check in so we can use them while at the DVC resort?

    Hi David,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

MagicBands are still in the testing phase.  Disney is continuing to test these at different resorts at Walt Disney World.  It is really exciting that you will be able to be a part of the test for part of your vacation!  The Disney Vacation Club resorts have been included in the testing at various times; however, if your stay is not during the testing phase at your Disney Vacation Club resort, you will likely not be able to use the MagicBands you have for later in your stay for the earlier part of your stay.  I do recommend that you and your friends be sure to link your reservation on the My Disney Experience website and continue to check there to see if the early part of your stay becomes a part of the MagicBands testing.

I hope that this is helpful for you, David.  Have a great time planning your trip, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
