Royal greetings, Annette, and welcome to
planDisney! Thanks so much for bringing your question my way!
There’s truly something special about
celebrating a birthday at the
Disneyland Resort, and I can’t wait for your Princess to start her magical celebration
in just a few days. First off, you picked a perfect destination for her birthday visit – you simply can’t top
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa! Not only is it luxurious and beautiful, but it’s also the most convenient
Disneyland Resort Hotel on property, offering an exclusive entrance into Disney California Adventure Park!
Back in early 2020, I had the chance to tour a room at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel that received the royal treatment from the
Disney Floral & Gifts team. This special service was called an
in-room celebration, and it included fun celebratory banners, flowers, balloons, and gifts. Unfortunately, this service isn’t currently being offered at the Disneyland Resort, but I’m crossing my fingers it will return in the future.
In the meantime, I have several other suggestions for some fun ways to celebrate your daughter’s big day! First, be sure to ask for a
complimentary birthday button at your hotel’s Front Desk, or once you arrive in the theme parks. You can find celebratory buttons at City Hall in Disneyland Park, or Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park. Your daughter will love the extra attention she’ll get from Characters and Cast Members who notice her button!
Since every successful birthday include a delicious cake, I also recommend adding a
Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake to a dining reservation at
one of these participating Disneyland Resort restaurants. You’ll be able to add a cake to your reservation when booking online at least three days before the reservation. If you’re not able to make a reservation in time, there’s still hope! You can also order a cake in-person at the restaurant’s host podium, or at the Concierge Desk at the Grand Californian. However, if you need to request the cake on your arrival day, you’ll need to do so in person upon arrival at the restaurant. Luckily, the participating restaurants have a limited quantity of celebration cakes available for day-of orders.
Lastly, you may want to check out the “Ear for Each Other” group on Facebook – I’ve found some wonderful small businesses offering unique balloon and flower deliveries to Disneyland Resort Hotels through this group! Perhaps you could find something fun to surprise your daughter with!
Best wishes for an unforgettable birthday and visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, Annette!
See ya’ real soon,
Kristin
