We're staying at the Grand Floridian. To get to Epcot I'm seeing about 42 minutes travel time by monorail. If we want to take a cab there, about how long would it take and cost? Is there another option via Disney transportation that would be shorter?

    Hi Ernie!
Yes, the trip from the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa to Epcot can take 40 to 50 minutes because you have to change Monorails at the Ticket and Transportation Center.  It can be a faster trip than that if happen to catch a Monorail is waiting for you at each Monorail Station.  Nothing beats the view of arriving at Epcot by Monorail when it goes around the loop around Spaceship Earth before it pulls into the Epcot Monorail Stations!

Another option is to take a taxi from the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa directly to Epcot like you mentioned.  The cost is usually under $20.00 including tip.  This trip takes about 15 to 20 minutes once you get into the taxi.

Also you could take the Resort Monorail from the Grand Floridian to the Magic Kingdom.  Then get a bus from the Magic Kingdom to the Beach Club Resort.  When you get to the Beach Club Resort, walk to Epcot.  From the Beach Club Resort it is only a 5 to 10 minute walk and you arrive at Epcot's World Showcase at the International Gateway entrance between the United Kingdom and France Pavilions.  This trip will still take you about 40 to 50 minutes as well, but if you are dinning in World Showcase this way gives you the added benefit of not having to walk through Epcot's Future World to get to where you are going to eat.

The last option would be to rent a car while you are in Walt Disney World.  There actually are two places to rent cars right on Walt Disney World Property! The first is the Car Care Center near the parking exit of Magic Kingdom theme park. There are both Alamo and National car rental agencies at the Car Care Center. The second place is at the Dolphin Resort. There is a National Car Rental agency right inside the Dolphin Lobby.

I hope that all of your travels are magical on your next trip to Walt Disney World!
    Keep Dreaming Big!
