    staying at Grand Floridian, thinking of upgrading to theme park view, is it worth it? can we see fireworks(wishes and MVMCP fireworks)? if yes, should we still go to MVMCP? I hv 2 & 4 yr old sons. Thank you for ALL of the awesome info u moms & dads

    Hi Patti!

          My parents, my son and I stayed at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa the first week of April 2011 and I can tell you that you are in for a treat! The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is an incredible Resort! We had a room that had a Magic Kingdom view and it was amazing!  We could see the top of Cinderella Castle and nightly fireworks show, Wishes from our balcony.  We could actually hear the music of Wishes as well, but it was slightly delayed.  We also watched the Electrical Water Pageant nightly from our balcony!  It was so neat to hear the Magic Kingdom opening ceremony over the waters of the Seven Sea Lagoon each morning and the Walt Disney Railroad train whistle throughout the day!  So my opinion is that it is totally worth it to have a Grand Floridian room with a Magic Kingdom view!  You should be able to see Wishes and the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Holiday Wishes from the balcony of your room.  This will be extremely valuable with young children because they can go right to bed after the fireworks are over without having to deal with crowds and transportation to get back to your resort.  If you have never been to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, then I would recommend it for your family.  If you go, don't miss Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade!

    I hope that your stay at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is truly magical on your next vacation to Walt Disney World!
