Hello, Kara (love your name!),
Thank you for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Would you believe we just returned from
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa? We, too, had a theme park view that was pretty spectacular from the building Conch Key, which is located right by the boat dock. In fact, we never watched the fireworks from inside the park as we preferred the views from our private balcony. If you are really curious, we stayed in room 7425, which is one of my favorite rooms of all times at Walt Disney World. The room is in the corner of the building, so it not only has very tall ceilings but also TWO balconies. One looks out toward Cinderella's Castle while the other one overlooks the marina.
To help you get an idea of the different views from the rooms at the resort, the independent website Touringplans.com is incredibly helpful; just search for
View of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. Once there, you can search for theme park view rooms and see what the view actually is from individual rooms. By the way, the tree that is in the photo from 7425 is no longer there. This website also offers the service of faxing in room requests and touring plans for a nominal fee.
Wishing you a magical trip to
Walt Disney World! If you have any further questions, please let us know. -
Kara
