Welcome to planDisney, Amy! I'm thrilled to be able to answer your question today because you're about to stay at one of my favorite
Disney Resorts Collection Hotels. I also have a stay coming up at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in a couple of weeks, so I've been keeping a close eye on the refurbishment process, and I'm happy to give you an update!
While renovations are currently ongoing at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the room renovations in all the resort buildings have been completed. The only exceptions are the rooms in the main building, which are currently wrapping up refurbishments. These rooms are all Club Level rooms, so if you have booked a Water View, Resort View, or Theme Park View room that does not have Club Level access, you will be in a renovated room.
While the room renovations are mostly completed, save for the main building, it is important to note that there is some refurbishment work happening around the Resort Hotel. I was just eating at
Narcoossee's a few weeks ago, and I noticed some scaffolding up around
Gasparilla Island Grill as the outside of the building is being refreshed. There was some work going on in the lobby earlier this summer as well, but that has wrapped up in time to make room for the
Gingerbread House! The Christmas tree should also be going up any day now, so make sure to snap lots of pictures when you're there for your vacation next week.
I hope this answers your question, Amy, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
