I will be staying at the grand Floridian and going to an after hours event. We have friends that are staying off site and going to the event with us, are they allowed to come to our resort and swim then walk over to Magic Kingdom with us?

Hey there, Shauna. Welcome to planDisney. I'm so glad you've stopped by to chit-chat about your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation.

Shauna I just recently stayed at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and has a fabulous time. I really enjoy the location, being so close to Magic Kingdom Park is just so much fun. If you are looking for a fun place to have a cocktail or an appetizer while you are there, try popping into Narcoossees and sitting at the bar. You don't need a reservation for this as the bar area is first-come, first-serve. I did this many evenings while I was there and it was such a nice place to relax. The restaurant has a stunning view of the water and the food offerings are so delicious!

The pool area at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and really all other Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, are specifically for the enjoyment of Guests staying at the resort. Your friend won't necessarily be able to join you at the pool, but they are able to visit the resort and walk over to Magic Kingdom Park with you. Parking is limited at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and without a room reservation, they won't be able to park their car there. What I would recommend them to do is to park at the Transportation & Ticket Center instead. This is going to be the main parking area for Magic Kingdom Park. From there, they can hop on the monorail and ride it 2 stops over to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Once there, they can get off and enjoy the different bars, lounges or restaurants this resort has to offer with you. You'll all also be able to walk over to Magic Kingdom Park together as the walkway is open to all Guests, not just the ones staying at that particular resort.

I hope this helps you plan your day a little bit better, Shauna. If you have any other questions about this, or anything else, please pop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help.

    Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
