We are staying at Grand Floridian in February and plan to go to Animal Kingdom. Since we can access early hours, what time does the first bus leave and will it be a shared bus? Is there a faster way to get to AK to be first at Rope Drop?

    Welcome to planDIsney, Kris!

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is my family’s preferred resort when visiting Walt Disney World, so you’ve come to the right place! We love the vibe of the property, being able to grab a morning coffee to enjoy on the walking path to the Magic Kingdom, the ability to take the monorail home after a late night, and enjoying the fireworks of Happily Ever After from just outside Gasparilla Island Grill.

As you already know, when staying at a Disney Resort Collection hotel, guests can enjoy complimentary transportation around the Disney World Resort. The Grand Floridian offers almost all the options that are available: bus, boat, monorail, and a walking path! Bus Service between Disney hotels and theme parks begins 45 minutes before opening, so you would want to be at the Grand Floridian bus station about 1 hour before the Animal Kingdom early hours entry time to ensure you are there for rope drop.

Whenever we are pressed for time, whether it be getting to a theme park for a Virtual Queue boarding group or a dining reservation, we like to book a Minnie Van. The Minnie Van service, available through Lyft, is an excellent way to rope drop in style, and it’s easy to use!  Simply open your Lyft app while on Disney World property, enter your destination and pick-up point, and select the Minnie Van if it’s available, and you will be on your way!

I hope this information helps, Kris! Enjoy your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World!
