    We will be staying at the Grand Floridian this December, but will be wanting to find the closest shopping mall to find kids gap and other stores. Can you advise which is the closest and best mall to find (not factory outlet). Many thanks, Cathy, NSW OZ

    Hi, Cathy!

    You have touched on one of my favorite subjects: shopping!   There is a nice mall not too far from Disney property.  The Florida Mall is located at 8001 S Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando.  I double checked, there is indeed a Gap!   In addition to shopping, there is a great restaurant selection.

    If you do not have a car, taxis are available just outside the front doors of your resort.   You will have to inquire about the fare, but I am guessing it will be about $40 each way.

    Don't forget about all the great shopping available right at Walt Disney World!  The Grand Floridian has some wonderful shops and boutiques, and you can spend hours in Downtown Disney with The World of Disney Store, Lego, Little Miss Matched, Tren-D, and so much more!  Make sure to check out my favorite Disney souvenir:  Disney Dooney & Bourke bags. You just have to see how cute they are!
