We are staying at the Grand Floridian, checking in on Friday, Feb 18 and departing on Tuesday, Feb 22. When is the first day that I can make dining reservations? 60 days out would be Dec 20, but it sounds like I may be able to reserve on Dec 16, 60+4?

Hi there, Courtney! I'm so glad you've stopped by planDisney to chat about one of my favorite things - Disney dining!

Courtney, as a Guest staying at one of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels you are able to make advanced dining reservations 60 days prior to your check-in day for the length of your stay, up to 10 days. This means that you'll be able to make dining reservations starting tomorrow, December 20th. Set your alarm for bright and early tomorrow because dining reservations open up online starting at 6:00 a.m. You can also make dining reservations by calling 407-WDW-DINE starting at 7:00 a.m.

I'm sure at this point you have your itinerary pretty well set, but if you are looking for any last-minute dining suggestions my favorite place to eat at Walt Disney World right now is The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs. The restaurant is set right on the lake and provides stunning views of Disney Springs all day long but I particularly love dinner time as the sun is setting. There is something for everyone on the menu, Courtney, the menu is huge. I've had a lot of the menu items but my current go-to order is the lobster roll served warm with butter and I always upgrade to the truffle fries. For dessert, I recommend trying the key lime pie in a jar. It's light and tart which is the perfect combination of flavors to finish the meal off. We've always had really great service at The BOATHOUSE. If for some reason, you aren't able to secure a dining reservation for The BOATHOUSE tomorrow morning, I suggest looking at OpenTable or even just walking in. We've had good luck getting a walk-up table on multiple occasions here.

I hope you are able to secure all of the dining spots that your heart desires for your vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth in February. If you have any other questions while planning your trip, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help.

    Have fun and enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
