Hiya, Jessica! Welcome to planDisney!
Oh boy, I'm so excited to hear about your magical vacation to
Walt Disney World Resort this summer! I recently was able to stay at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and nothing compares to the relaxing ambiance and the proximity to
Magic Kingdom Park. With so much to see and do during
The World's Most Magical Celebration, from the
celebratory sweets to the
Beacons of Magic, you're sure to have a grand time!
Just like Russell and Dug, sometimes we just need our dog by our side!
Service animals are welcome at most locations at Walt Disney World Resort, which is just one of the many services and access options offered to
Guests with disabilities. Service animals must be in control by their owners at all times, so making sure that your furry friend is on a leash with his vest is an important detail! After speaking to a Cast Member, the recommendation is to bring your animal's documentation and vaccination records in addition to the special vest.
Jessica, it would also be important to
read more information on service animals at Walt Disney World Resort, including any restricted locations and animal relief areas. You may also want to bring a portable or collapsible water bowl for your pup - fortunately, most counter service locations will provide you with a complimentary cup of ice water which you can use to keep your companion well hydrated!
I would also recommend taking some time to download and explore the
My Disney Experience app prior to your trip. This app is a little like holding your own magic wand in your hand, unlocking everything that The Most Magical Place on Earth has to offer. With features like viewing park maps, checking wait times for attractions, and
mobile ordering food, this is a great way to minimize waits and maximize the fun!
