Hi, Kelly!
I’m so glad to hear you’re planning a stay at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa during the
holiday season. This hotel, with its Craftsman-inspired architecture and decor, is especially stunning when it’s decked out for Christmastime!
You will find that the towering Christmas tree in the hotel lobby fits the theme, with lantern-shaped ornaments reminiscent of the Arts and Crafts movement. The joyful sounds of Christmas carolers fill the lobby from time to time, and Santa Claus himself is there to visit with Guests from mid-November through Christmas Eve.
Perhaps the best part of celebrating the holiday season at
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is the gingerbread replica of the hotel that is built right in the lobby. It’s over 7 feet tall, 12 feet wide and made with more than 500 pounds of real gingerbread! Nearby you’ll find a holiday snack cart selling delicious gingerbread and shortbread cookies, plus hot chocolate and hot cider to accompany your sweet treat (adults may add rum to any of the hot beverages).
Yes, the Disneyland Resort Hotel pools are generally heated to approximately 82 degrees year-round for Guests’ comfort. You’ll also have access to a whirlpool hot tub. For an extra relaxing experience, you can even rent a private
poolside cabana that comes with many amenities and your own server to take food and beverage orders.
I hope this helps you plan your very merry visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, Kelly! Please write back with more questions as your pixie-dusted planning continues!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
