Hi Linda!
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for sending your
Disneyland Resort Hotel question to us hEAR! I hope you're enjoying a wonderful start to your vacation at The Happiest Place on Earth!
I recently took a tour of
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and can't believe how many California-specific design and decor styles Disney fit into one hotel. I had passed by such Disney details for yEARs and had no idea, like the
GCH Craftsman Bar is modeled after popular Frank Lloyd Wright designs that blend forests and water elements with living spaces.
You'll be able to
request a late check-out, however that usually only grants guests an extra hour or two past the 11:00 AM check-out time. You're more than welcome to inquire about an extended check-out from your Guestroom phone or in person at the front desk. However, it's going to be up to the Front Desk Cast Members (or possibly the Rooms Manager) if they can grant the request. As far as a half-day extension, that decision would fall to the Rooms Manager. Your best bet would be to ask in person at the Check-In desk and possibly explain why you'd like to have a guest room until your desired time.
Pro Tips: I sadly don't have access to the proper magic mirror to see when your check-out day is, but you'll have more luck with both of these requests if your departure date is a not-popular check-in day, like a Sunday or Monday. If neither can be accommodated, ask if there's a way that you can pay for club-level access for the day. It's not the same as your own guest room, but it would be a guaranteed place to call 'base' for the day.
I'm still not out of ideas! The Bell Services team would love to store your luggage while you have some last hours of Disneyland fun. If you don't have
tickets to the park on your 'See Ya Real Soon' day, you're more than welcome to make yourself at home on any of the comfy couches in the lobby or any nooks on the various floors that overlook the lobby. But my favorite last-day idea is that as a Guest of a
Disneyland Resort Hotel, you're more than welcome to
use your hotel's pool on your departure day. There's even a small pool-side changing room with showers where you can fully freshen up, so be sure to pack some dry clothes in a carry-on that you bring to the pool with you!
I hope that this helped to give you a few ideas on how to squeeze all of the magic out of the last few hours of your Disneyland Resort vacation, Linda! Be sure to follow the
official planDisney Instagram account for even more tips and tricks. And guess what, we just launched a brand new planDisney Podcast, and
episode two is all about Disneyland Resort! Thank you again so much for reaching out to us hEAR at planDisney, Linda, and if you have any more Disney planning questions, We're All Ears!
